Meet Charlotte, BlueSky’s Educational Governance Lead and Tutor.

Charlotte Withers brings extensive governance experience, combining strategic oversight with a commitment to safe, supportive, and inspiring learning environments. She has held responsibility for strategy, accountability, and safeguarding, with a particular focus on health and safety reinforced by recent IOSH training. This trustee-level perspective gives her first-hand insight into the standards educational provisions must meet, underpinned by a determination to nurture every learner.

Her path into governance is shaped by a longstanding interest in social justice. With a BA and MA in Philosophy, Charlotte has explored how philosophical thinking can address questions of injustice and social barriers that limit opportunity. She also draws on approaches such as Philosophy for Children (P4C) to foster critical thinking, inclusion, and dialogue, keeping equity central to governance decisions and ensuring every child is heard.

“Alongside my governance work, I am also a qualified primary school teacher (QTS) and mother of three. I bring both professional expertise and personal insight to my role. My teaching experience provides the grounded understanding needed to connect high-level governance with the everyday realities of education. By uniting philosophical insight, governance leadership and inclusive pedagogy, I work to strengthen BlueSky Educational’s commitment to operating with rigour while championing supportive learning environments where every child can thrive.”
