Stephen has over 18 years of teaching experience, working in the UK and internationally across Turkey, China, Myanmar and Uzbekistan. Throughout his career, he has supported children and young people from a wide range of backgrounds, including learners with limited or disrupted access to formal education.

He brings a calm, patient and encouraging approach to mentoring, taking time to build trust and help young people feel safe, understood and valued. Stephen recognises that difficulties with learning can often reflect wider emotional or personal challenges. He works alongside each young person to identify the barriers they face, rebuild confidence and develop a more positive relationship with education.

As a tutor, Stephen specialises in English, English as a Second Language and IELTS preparation. He has experience teaching primary, secondary, IGCSE and university-level students, adapting his approach to suit individual learning needs and making challenging subjects feel accessible and manageable.

Having spent much of his life travelling and living overseas, Stephen has a genuine interest in different cultures, people and ways of life. He brings this international perspective, together with his relaxed and supportive manner, to his work with young people.
