Our BlueSky Team

Meet Jo, BlueSky’s Art Tutor and Therapist.

Mentoring focus: Confidence building, creative exploration and learning engagement
Tutoring focus: Art, sculpture, textiles and creative practice.

Hi, I’m Jo.

I’m an artist, creative mentor and educator who believes in the power of creativity to build confidence, curiosity and self-expression.

Through mentoring and creative learning, I aim to provide a calm and supportive space where young people can explore ideas, develop practical skills and experience the satisfaction that comes from creating something of their own. My sessions focus on helping young people build confidence, independence and a sense of achievement through creative exploration.

I enjoy working across a wide range of artistic mediums, with a particular passion for textiles, sculpture, printmaking and drawing. I often incorporate recycled and found materials, encouraging creativity while helping young people develop awareness of the world around them.

I am a certified Talking and Drawing Therapy practitioner and an Arts Award specialist, with experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in and out of school settings both one-to-one and in small groups.

Outside of my mentoring work, I continue to develop my own artistic practice, exhibiting locally and contributing to community projects including Voices Gloucester’s “Belonging / Unbelonging.”

Jo holds Safeguarding Level 4 training and has experience supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) including Autism, ADHD and PDA .
