Our BlueSky Team

Meet Alison, BlueSky SEN Tutor & Mentor.

Mentoring focus: Confidence building, independence, self-esteem and learning engagement

Approach: Calm, compassionate and flexible support tailored to each learner

Hi, I’m Ali.

I am a mentor and tutor with a background in primary education, having trained as a primary school teacher and worked in both the UK and Singapore. My experience also includes supporting Year 6 productions and serving as a local school governor.

My approach begins with building trust and creating a calm, supportive space where young people feel comfortable and understood. Every learner is different, so I take time to understand their individual strengths, needs and interests before finding approaches that help them engage, develop confidence and move forward with greater independence.

As the parent of two neurodivergent children, I have developed a strong understanding of how differently young people can experience learning and the wider world. This has strengthened my patient and compassionate approach, as well as my willingness to explore alternative ways of approaching tasks, challenges and obstacles.

I am committed to continuing my own learning and reflecting on my practice while working with others. Above all, I aim to champion every young person, helping them recognise their worth and potential while celebrating every step of progress, however small it may seem.
